About this Event
"Over time, the effects of our beliefs, emotional trauma, and repetitive physical movement become stored in the body and can lead to injury, pain, reduced mobility, fatigue, and illness," says somatic therapist and certified massage practitioner, Lisa Kroner. Join us in this Ema's Herbal Class as we discuss the mind, body, and nervous system connection. We will talk about how mental and physical health are inextricably connected and how we can use plants to support our minds and our bodies.
Lisa Kroner moved from Wisconsin to Los Angeles in 1995 to work in the film industry. Which she did, for about 5 years. Then she became a pastry chef. She did that for 10 years in California, Wyoming, and Alaska. After an emotional crisis in Wyoming, she was debilitated with back pain and found her way to a random massage therapist. He opened her eyes to the intimate connection between her body and her emotions and inspired her to become a therapist... which she did in 2013. This is the path Lisa was meant to find! Today her work as a Somatic Therapist at Ema's Herbs is a wonderful combination of craniosacral techniques, energy work, and massage. She uses these techniques to calm the nervous system and to provide comfort and deep relaxation to the body. When this happens, the client feels safe and "at home" in the body. The mind becomes thoughtless and clear. When we set our intentions and work from this state, we can heal whatever presents itself. Lisa continually meet colleagues, friends, and teachers who inspire her and inform her work. She is currently working with a few colleagues to learn about ancient Hawaiian healing arts. Lisa practices meditation and qigong and loves to immerse herself in nature by backpacking, swimming in the ocean, and sailing. She loves her work and feels immensely grateful to help people discover healing through bodywork, breath, and connection.
