In this talk with Social Psychologist Dr. Elliot Weiner, Ph.D., we will dive into the fascinating field of political psychology, exploring how psychological motivations influence the political beliefs we adopt and how political contexts shape our opinions. Through real-world examples and discussion, we will tackle big questions and controversies, providing you with new ways to think about politics and the current political climate.

Dr. Elliot Weiner earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Minnesota, where his research focused on psychological influences that shape political beliefs and behavior. His work emphasizes how changing political contexts interact with underlying psychological motives, with his dissertation exploring these dynamics in the context of immigration. Currently, Dr. Weiner serves as the Director of Research and Continuous Improvement at Relay Graduate School of Education, a nonprofit institution that offers teacher training and school leadership programs across 14 states. In this role, he applies quantitative and qualitative research methods to assess and enhance the impact of educational programs.
A proud Metro State alumnus, Dr. Weiner brings his expertise in social psychology and education to create meaningful insights into how individuals and institutions adapt to evolving social challenges.
