As winter settles in, four extraordinary musicians come together for an intimate evening of music, stories and seasonal warmth.
Alyth McCormack, Tríona Marshall, Tara Breen and Graham Henderson bring a wealth of experience, artistry and musical magic to The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre, performing a captivating mix of new material, traditional favourites and beautiful seasonal songs.
At the heart of the evening is the mesmerising voice of Alyth McCormack, renowned for her breathtaking interpretations of Scottish Gaelic song. A former featured singer with The Chieftains, Alyth has performed across the globe and shared stages with artists including Martin Carthy, Norma Waterson, Ry Cooder and Kris Kristofferson.
She is joined by acclaimed harpist Tríona Marshall, whose exquisite playing moves effortlessly between Irish traditional, classical and contemporary music. Also a former member of The Chieftains, Tríona brings an extraordinary sensitivity and depth to the harp, creating music that feels both timeless and deeply intimate.
Tara Breen, described by Music Network as “a musical wizard”, is one of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional musicians. A multiple All-Ireland Fleadh champion and a familiar face on stages around the world, Tara brings the energy and spirit of County Clare to her fiddle playing, alongside her own beautifully crafted compositions.
Completing this exceptional quartet is Graham Henderson, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer whose four-decade career has seen him work with some of Ireland’s most influential artists, including Sinéad O’Connor, Dónal Lunny and Moving Hearts. His distinctive piano and keyboard playing adds another rich layer to the evening’s sound.
Together, they create something truly special, a meeting of voices, strings, melodies and musical traditions that feels perfectly suited to the stillness of winter.
Expect beautiful songs, exquisite musicianship, traditional tunes, new sounds and plenty of moments to simply sit back and get lost in the music.
