🔴Get ready to roll up for the school event of the year…🔴Come One, Come all… to the 2024 MHPS BIG SHOW DISCO!
🕺We have made some changes this year (we know you’ll like them). Read on to see how its going to roll out…
🎡Theme: The BIG SHOW disco is a celebration of all things fun! A chance to dance, socialise and embrace the moment in our vibrant school community. Party clothes, colourful clothes – anything goes. We encourage students to come just as they are, ready to light up the dance floor with their spirit and smiles!
📍Location: The disco will again take place in the Mount Hawthorn Primary School Undercover Area. The good news this year is that we are planning a NEW Extended Chill Out Zone (outdoors). This area will be fenced and supervised allowing some fresh air, and a chance to escape the loud music for those who need a break.
🎲 🌭🍦 Side Show Alley (under the Big Top Hangar): The Parent's Bar has transformed into fun for the whole family with Side Show Alley running 4pm to 7pm, home to the famous MHPS Sausage sizzle, Cupcakes for sale and Mr Whippy. Enjoy facepainting, live entertainment by Caitlin Tan and more. Everyone is a winner on "Spin to Win" (with a suite of incredible prizes donated this year by local businesses and school parents), and there is an electric scooter up for grabs at "John Carey's Guessing Booth"! Cash and eftpos available for tokens.
🧺 Although there is no parent bar this year, families are still encouraged to enjoy the community/carnival vibe with a picnic style dinner on the school grounds (please ensure all rubbish returns home with you!).
🕗🎟Sessions:
Each ticket includes live DJ, Games & Prizes, Photo booth, Silent Disco & bottle of water.
🔴3.30pm – 4.15pm – Kindy & PP, 45 mins, $10
🟢4.45pm – 5.45pm – Years 1 to 3 , 60 mins, $12
🟡6.15pm – 7.30pm – Years 4 to 6 , 75 mins, $15
Canteen Sweet shop inside disco (cash and eftpos)
👨👩👧👦 Please note: Those with special needs must have a carer accompany them. Parent/Carer chaperones will be admitted free, but please only if required as we are limited on space. Consider 'parent pooling' for little ones who have confidence or attachment issues (ie PP parents nominate one parent to be inside with a group of students they might be familiar to). If there is a slight concern, parents are encouraged to wait outside and come in as required. Each student attending the disco MUST have a nominated guardian on the school campus.
😇Volunteers: this is a parent run event – we need you – tickets can’t go on sale until we have enough hands on deck to make the event happen. And, Volunteering is a great way to be a part of your child’s disco experience! We have 100+ spots available for roles such as:
- Set up / decorations
- Disco chaperones/supervisors
- Silent disco / table tennis attendants
- Clearing and resetting between sessions
- Sweet Shop serving (inside disco)
- Side Show Alley (sausage sizzle, serving, running stalls)
- Security (Fathering Project – this is for you!)
- Cupcake Baking – up to 40 slots!
- Pack down / cleaning

>Once we hit our vollie quota, ticket sales will go live.
>Ticket sales must close by November 1. Once ticket sales are closed they are final – please don’t delay in getting your ticket as it’s a short window!
>Ticket envelopes will be delivered to classrooms around November 4-6 and will include a water bottle ticket label and a wristband. Wristbands are important as they are the entry ticket, and valid for 2 x photo booth sessions (marked off band as used). Additionally, each child must have the name and mobile of a nearby parent/guardian written on the wristband.
