Join the San Francisco Bay Area's official Oddities & Curiousities Market, The Menagerie, on Saturaday August 15th 2020. Our first Summer event at the Elks Lodge in Alameda features hand selected vendors selling extraordinary wares! Take an introsepective look at the Victorian Era through inspired curiosities, workshops, exhibits and entertainment. Discover treasures in Victorian mourning jewelry, clothing, taxidermy, medical & natural history, antiques, furnishings, jewelry, fine art, memento mori and one-of-a-kind collectibles.  
***If you purchased a ticket for 4/18, please check your email for detailed info about the postponed Spring event. COVID-19 aka Corona Virus, has caused us to reschedule it on 8/15/20. ALL advance tickets purchased for 4/18 will be honored at the August event, including workshop registration. Refund info can also be found in that email. SPECIAL GUESTS:
David Poznanter-Poznic of Boom Circus! will be dazzling collectors and patrons all the day as they venture throughout three floors of odd & curious art. Witness the spectacle of his masked theatrics during two performances in the Rathskellar room at select times during the event.
CAMRON-STANFORD HOUSE will present an exhibit of mourning dress and other Victorian era ephemera from their historic house museum in Oakland. They'll be available to discuss their upcoming exhibits, events, and programs that highlight local 19th century life and culture.
Victoria and Dave Local musician Victoria Victrola of Victoria & the Vaudevillains is back to take the stage once again with famous Puppeteer Dave Haaz-Baroque from Creature Theatre for a special performance!! 
WORKSHOPS: Ever want to try your hand at creating your own oddity? We have three affordable workshops you can ADD-ON to your ticket purchase today! 
TAROT CARD AND TEA LEAF READINGS all day long!
GIVING BACK This magnificent event gives us a chance to help sponsor local charities and organizations here in our community. This spring, we are pleased to announce our first raffle to raise donations for "New Day for Children", a nationally recognized 501-c3 which provides scholarships and financial assitance to American girls, ages 10-18 who have been recovered from the despair of sex trafficking. Raffle tickets will be on sale the day of the event! Thank you for joining us in our efforts to raise awareness and help others in need.
TICKETS:
SKIP THE LINES AND PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE!! Doors open early at 10:00am for VIP Tickets and 11:30am for General Admission.
A LIMITED number of VIP tickets are available online. General Admission tickets can be purchased in advance OR at the door. 
VIP Tickets include: Early entry at 10:00am, complimentary coffee, tea and light breakfast bites as well as a a special gift from the Menagerie celebrating Queen Victoria's favorite past time of taking tea.
Advance General Admission Tickets include: Admission at 11:30am, priority entrance at the door before non-ticket holders.

FAQs
Do I need an admission ticket to take a workshop?
YES-you must buy an admission ticket to enter the Menagerie. ALL monies collected for the workshops are paid to the individual artist instructing the class. 
Do I need to pay for a workshop in advance?
YES. We will not be collecting money at the door for workshops.
Are tickets refundable?
No but they are transferrable. If you purchase an Advance General Admission Ticket and want to upgrade, you can transfer it through Evenbrite and pay the difference. To transfer your ticket to another person, contact the organizer.
How can I purchase tickets as a gift for someone else?
Complete your ticket purchase through Eventbrite and send us an email with the recipients name. We'll send you a confirmation and handle it from there!
Are kids allowed?
This event is fun for all ages but some art may be not be kid friendly. Use your best judgement depending on your child's age or exposure to alternative art.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry no pets-we love our fur babies but the venue allows service animals only.
Is there an elevator and disabled parking?
YES! There is an elevator for disabled access as well as parking in the back of the Elks Lodge.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Alameda Elks Lodge is located just off Park Street with nearby access to I-880 and public transportation in front. Street parking is available and there's a parking garage at the corner of Oak and Central with several restaurants nearby. PLEASE RESERVE PARKING BEHIND THE LODGE FOR DISABLED ACCESS.
What can I bring into the event?
A smile, an open mind...friends are good. Cash is good too and most vendors take debit/credit cards. NO outside food, drinks, alcohol or weapons...
