The essential seed of the band’s sound was carefully carried by guitarist/front man Brett Minnie.Having recruited Pauline Silver on drums the band began to play shows around London and the south east during 2017 – and they set about recording their first EP. It captured the unique magic of The Medea Project’s sound; the diverse, brooding intertwining of gothic and metal.
The latest release from 2025 – “Kharon” – is The Medea Project’s new collection of hymns, stories and incantations. Drawing on doom metal, death metal and black metal, on dark folk and darker dreams and something primal that burns within the tangled strands of memory and myth.
