The Meanies head to Newcastle for the first time in yonks with a show at the Islington Barracks Hotel on Friday 7 November, presented by Heaps Normal and Cheersquad! The Meanies are launching their new 7” single ’Shutdown’ which comes out October 9. Recorded 25 years ago by Shane O’Mara at his studio Yikesville, ’Shutdown' is seeing the light of day for the very first time. It’s not your average bear as far as The Meanies usual sound goes but hey, a change is as good as a holiday and they can’t afford one of those. On the b-side of the 7” you’ll find some top Aussies doing a couple of Meanies covers, with Frenzal Rhomb covering the track ‘Play This Song Each Night’ and Perth punks Leeches! doing a rendition of ’Scum’.
