Mary McPage & Jevon Powell have been making music since 2003. Their music runs from soulful rhythm & blues to roots rock and pop. Sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric, sometimes both! Influenced by musicians like Clapton, Petty, Patsy and Etta James they write great songs with rich harmonies, catchy hooks, and foot danceable beats.The McPage & Powell acoustic duo was named Best Solo/Duo in 2023 by the Washington Blues Society (WBS). Mary was awarded Best Female Vocalist in 2023, and Performer of the Year in 2009. Jevon has been nominated multiple times for Best Acoustic and Best Electric Guitar. When the full band plays together, they have 25 plus WBS Best of the Blues award nominations including Best Songwriter(s), Best Harmonica, Best Bass, Best Drums, and Best CD(s). To put it simply, this band is good.
Whatever the occasion, McPage & Powell have you covered. They are the core of a sometimes six piece full on band, incorporating Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Harmonica, Acoustic & Electric Bass, Backing vocals & Percussion/drums, with a Ukulele and even a Kazoo at times.
Band Members are; Bill Davis (Harmonica & Vocals), Howard Hooper (Bass & Backing Vocals), Gregg Lerner (Drums & Backing Vocals).
