THE MATRON Pre-order Campaign

IPI Comics is launching the horror title THE MATRON, co-created by David Bowles and Drew Edwards, through a pre-order campaign that offers lots of swag and many perks! Get copies of the first issues much earlier than anyone else and thrill to this blend of slasher and Slavic myth set in the Texas Hill Country.

In 1975, a long reign of terror by cannibal serial killer Rozina Krenek—AKA The Matron—was brought to an end by the Averno County Sheriff's Department. But almost 46 years later, with an ice storm and gentrification combining to ruin her life, the Matron's granddaughter Zina takes up the ax, mask, and cloak to wreak havoc on the town of Ascuas.

Taking a stand against the slasher are two college students—Roz Krenek, who happens to be Zina's granddaughter, as well as her girlfriend Samantha Maldonado. And, if they can convince him to overcome his fear of the killer, Dr. Ezekiel Gavin, a former FBI profiler, the only person to survive the first Matron.As Central Texas is plunged into a once-in-a-lifetime blizzard, their chances don't look good. For as the old school rhyme reminds us: "That’s the bite of her ax, the chill of her breath. The Matron is winter. The Matron is death."
