Join Lou Scampoli, a Birdlife WA volunteer, discussing the marvel of bird migration.
Birds migrate in many ways and for a number of reasons and we will detail why they migrate, the different forms of migration, how they navigate and the numerous hazards they face. Be introduced to the migratory patterns of the Flame Robin, Tasmanian Silvereye, Rainbow Bee-eater and others. Hear about the incredible voyage of our migratory shorebirds and find out which shorebirds are considered ‘world champions’ of distance and altitude migration.
After the main presentation there will be a short focus by Alex Chapman, botanist and citizen science advocate, on Florabase and citizen science.
