The Marketing Meetup IRL: Cardiff

The Cardiff Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Cardiff to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in ‘listen’ not ‘sell’ mode 🙂

We’re meeting back at the lovely Spindogs offices, where we just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.

Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people in a chilled out friendly space. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.

Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.

Speaker: Mikey Rowe, Freelance Social Media Marketing

Topic: Falling into a career in social: the good, the bad, and the lessons learned along the way

Mikey is a seasoned marketers with 17 years' experience in sales, marketing (including 8 years at Capital FM), and social media. Currently working as a social-first freelancer, Mikey helps smaller independent brands with their social strategy and tactics, ideas and content creation, and social media management.

Mikey has collaborated with independent, national, and global brands across sports, leisure, FMCG, and consumer-facing goods, as well as some notable B2B projects. He strives to keep things real, adopting a no-nonsense approach, particularly with content—believing that content with a purpose always beats content that just looks pretty.

6.00 PM - Doors Open - Drinks, Networking, and smiles

6.30 PM - Introduction and Talks Begin

7.00 PM - Talks Finish, Networking, Listening, Saying Hello, and Positively Lovely People - A nice chilled out time 🙂

7.45 PM - End of the night - you leave with new contacts and fresh idea
