The Mark Hampton Quartet from Columbus

"Jazz bassist Mark Hampton, cousin of the late jazz legend Lionel Hampton and trumpeter Pharez Whitted, brings a powerful blend of heritage, resilience, and creativity to every performance. His music reflects a rich mix of creative songwriting and earthy expression, combined with inspired interpretations of jazz standards and original compositions from his latest album, Away From the Noise.
Hampton’s performances are known for their warmth, groove, and deep musical storytelling, making him a delightful and engaging performer who connects naturally with audiences. Beyond his artistry, Hampton’s journey as a stage-3 head and neck cancer survivor adds an inspiring dimension to his presence on stage, where his passion for music and life resonates in every note."
