Each composition student was invited to choose an artwork and respond to it. Music at the Exhibitions will feature—

Shara Alexander responding to Empty by Dirk Staschke
Natalie Dechaine responding to Its Teeth Are Soft by Mikayla Whitmore
Liam Kornoely responding to TH1223 by Julie Oppermann
Vivian Le responding to The Afternoon Dream by May Nguyen
Colin Marks’ responding to Channel by Chad Brown
Matthew Nell responding to Curtain by Cindy Wright.
The compositions will be performed by Andrew Amaya, Nick Carozza, Paris Cho, Elton Chong, Ilinca Cristinoiu, Natalie Dechaine, Ethan De Souza, Alexander Felix, Elizabeth Lopes, Colin Marks, Savannah Mengistu, Leanna Oliver, and Victoria Williams.
Music at the Exhibitions takes place at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art on Friday, December 5, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Admission is free. No reservation is necessary. Everyone is welcome. Parking on campus in staff, student, and metered spots is free after 1 p.m. on Fridays. This collaboration between the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art and the UNLV School of Music was curated by Dr. Jennifer Bellor and Dr. Zida Wang.
