Manjira Datta was a filmmaker artist social critic and activist-visionary. Around fifteen of her documentaries probed social justice community international development class and gender equality and spirituality and the body. These documentaries made between 1985 and 2005 some in 16mm and eventually in digital format include several masterpieces of Indian independent documentary.
The Kriti Film Club is organising the 'Manjira Datta Retrospective Online Film Festival' on Doculive.in. The festival opens at 12 noon on Monday, 15th September which is marked as the International Day of Democracy and will go on until 6 pm on Monday, 6th October 2025. The festival expresses solidarity to IAWRT India Chapter of which Manjira di was a member.
The festival will stream four of her documentaries:

- Portraits from a Dream Show
- Seeds of Plenty Seeds of Sorrow
- BKS Iyengar Sculpting Humankind
