About this Event
Dr. Ofri Ilany is a historian and journalist, teaching at NYU Tel Aviv. He is the editor-in-chief of Hazman Hazeh, the magazine of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. He is the author of In Search of the Hebrew People: Bible and Nation in the German Enlightenment (Indiana University Press, 2018). His column, "Under the Sun," appears in Haaretz’s weekly supplement. He is currently completing a book on the history of homosexuality in Mandate Palestine and Israel. The lecture is part of this project.
