Before enjoying the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games, join museum colleagues for a closing celebration of the exhibition, The Making of an Icon: Walter Iooss and Sports Photography (March 6 - August 2, 2024) at the Housatonic Museum of Art. During this event, participants will tour the exhibit with guest curators from Interpreting Sports, learn how to create socially responsible and culturally relevant sports content, engage in a "talk-back" dialogue about the exhibit, and enjoy a musical activation of the space and afternoon reception -- experiencing the show in-depth with colleagues in the field.
This program is intended for museum professionals of all levels and experience who have an interest in sports exhibitions or programming. Organized by NEMA's College and University Museums Professional Affinity Gathering and the Sports Community of Practice. Co-sponsored by Connecticut League of Museums.
