Join Mahjong Retreat Co. for the first edition of The Mahjong Lunch Club at 55 Seventy — our new daytime Mahjong gathering designed for good food, great company, and even better tiles.
Spend your Labor Day afternoon around the Mahjong table enjoying lunch, social play, and time with your Mahjong community in the beautiful setting of 55 Seventy.
Whether you're meeting your regular Mahjong crew or coming on your own and looking to make new Mahjong friends, pull up a chair and join us!
LEARN TO PLAY — $40
New to Mahjong? Start here!
Join us for a fun and approachable introduction to American Mahjong. We'll walk you through the game step-by-step so you can learn the fundamentals and start building the confidence to play on your own.
During the session, you'll learn:
- The Mahjong tiles, suits, winds, dragons and flowers
- How to read and navigate the NMJL card
- How to set up the game
- The Charleston and how passing works
- How to build a winning hand
- Calling tiles and basic game etiquette
- The flow of play from beginning to end
No prior Mahjong experience is necessary. Come solo or bring a friend — we'll provide everything you need to get started!
OPEN PLAY — $25
For experienced players who are comfortable playing independently.
Grab your Mahjong friends or come solo and we'll help get you to a table. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of American Mahjong, conversation, lunch and community at 55 Seventy.
Prerequisite: Open Play guests should be comfortable playing independently and familiar with the rules and flow of American Mahjong. Instruction is not included with Open Play.
