Event Information:
This holiday season, join Clara on a magical journey as she battles the Rat King, visits the Land of Snow, and meets the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets. Children and adults of all ages will be swept away by the fantastic tale that reminds us of the magic of the Christmas season. Featuring over 120 community dancers and actors, guest principal artists, Adriana Alvarado and Luis Victor Santana (Centro Danza, Puerto Rico) as the Snow King and Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, dancers from Samford Dance Company (Artistic Director Alisa McCool), and local professional guest artists from Formations Dance Company (Artistic Directors Whitney Renfroe and Nell Heflin-Goza). A portion of the proceeds will benefit Casa Paraiso, a ministry of Hearts Cry, that provides and operates an orphanage for disabled children in the heart of Panama. This original version of the ballet is brought to you by Artistic Director Stephanie Rangel and the MCPA artistic staff.
