The Magic City - Formed in 2023, The Magic City represents both a homecoming and a reinvention for a group of musicians who've been embedded in Boston's indie scene for nearly two decades. Adam Anderson, David Jackel, and Ken Marcou spent eighteen years as three-quarters of The Daily Pravda—a project that channeled everything from Radiohead's architectural angst to Suede's glammed-up melancholy. When they decided to embark on something new, they didn't have to look far to complete the lineup: Mike Quinn, the producer who'd captured nearly every Daily Pravda recording at the Moontower Recording Studio, was enlisted not merely as a bassist but as a full-fledged songwriting partner. Lonely Leesa and The Lost Cowboys, formed in 2017, is reminiscent of iconic sounds from Fleetwood Mac's Rumours era, Lucinda Williams, Big Star, and the Rolling Stones during their Exile on Main Street phase. The band paints a vivid soundscape of love’s melancholic demise but with a melodic and catchy twist. It boasts a rotating lineup of seasoned musicians drawn from a who’s-who of notable Boston bands, anchored by Leesa Coyne’s hard-hitting, soulful vocals. The group has earned multiple Boston Music Awards nominations for Best Country Act and reached the semi-finals of Boston’s legendary Rock & Roll Rumble, cementing their reputation for atmospheric, emotionally charged alt-country rock.
