Join Dr. Jim Costa for a full-day adventure celebrating the fascinating history and stunning beauty of the Oconee Bells (Shortia galacifolia).
Highlights:
Learn the story of the “Lost and Found” Shortia, from French botanist André Michaux to Harvard’s Asa Gray.
Hike the Oconee Bells Nature Trail to see some of the largest blooming populations.
Enjoy a 3-hour pontoon boat tour on Lake Jocassee to visit remote Shortia habitats, stunning waterfalls, and scenic coves.
Cost: $200 (Includes presentation, transportation, park entry, and lake tour.)
