We are very excited to be teaming up with our pal Fran AKA Shimmy Shimmy Yay, Creative Designer and Maker plus a massive ADHD Advocate with her growing network 'OMG It's ADHD'. Fran will be presenting our evening of talks, socialising, creativity and music - learning about and celebrating our ADHD sisters everywhere!We are delighted to welcome our guest speaker for the evening, Sam Brown AKA Mrs ADHD. Sam is a co-host of the popular The ADHD Adults Podcast and was diagnosed with ADHD in 2022. She is also Treasurer for the Charity ADHDadultUK and works as an Executive Administrator. Sam will share her own story of a late ADHD diagnosis as well as explore the symptoms, challenges of receiving your diagnosis and living your best life in a neuro-typical world!
This isn't just a 'talk and run' situation - oh no! We are planning an amazing evening for everyone wanting to understand ADHD in women further, connect with women at a variety of stages of their diagnosis journey and celebrate our amazing creative minds together!
You will receive a welcome drink on arrival (there will be alcohol-free options too) and we will be showcasing some of our fave neuro-diverse artists and makers too! There'll be stalls full of creative greatness for you to browse, a cheeky little shopping trip for you and the perfect way to connect with and support local ADHD makers.
Your host for the evening Fran Hennessy AKA Shimmy Shimmy Yay will guide us through the evening introducing local women sharing their personal experiences with late ADHD diagnosis and introduce our guest speaker Sam Brown with a Q&A session to follow. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions, we promise. Expect a break during Sam's talk too, the cafe bar will be open all evening for drinks and snacks.
Following the talks we will have some cool arty activities to get us talking to each other, sharing our experiences and making new friends! To end the evening, Fran will be playing some of her fave 90’s Hip-Hop, cheese and dance tunes, so dancing could be on the cards – Thursday is the new Friday after all!
