Thursday July 18th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) is bringing in for the very firs time, a 5 piece Toronto based band The Lost Anglers! The Lost Anglers has a real diverse sound that incorporates Americana, Country, Rock and Punk! Music fans, you gotta see this band! The show starts at 7:30pm, don’t miss it!
The Lost Anglers were formed around 2008. Four of the
Anglers are former members of the legendary Oh Those
Pants and The Cads, both from Toronto’s punk era heyday.
The band has a large repertoire of original music, songs
that tell stories of the lonesome kind, that will leave you
feeling a little sad but but intrigued by rustic characters
roaming the landscape searching for meaning.
Four Lost Anglers songs play like a mini opera. I’m Going Where The Cowboys Go, On Sunday, The Ballad Of Montana Slim and Six Gun Rhythm take you down a dusty trail of broken hearts, sin and redemption. Their latest song creations include Clear Day, a docu-song about the intersection of capital punishment and an airline crash, and Snake Around Her Heart, a tale of
of two tattooed lovers capturing their love in ink. The Lost Anglers echo a range of influences from Americana and Country to Rock and Punk and pay tribute to that in cover songs by Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Ryan Adams, Buddy Miller, John Hiatt, Ry Cooder and The Weeknd. Individually, Anglers members have also been key players in Aquatic Park Jazz Collective, The Byters, Cowboy Stoner Arkestra, The Doncasters, E-Static, The Everglades, The Screamagers
and the Total Gadjos.. Burgess, Edmunds and Terry also perform improvisational electronic music as ** Last Century. Ford has also been known to do the occasional open mic solo, and choir performances.
Andrew Edmunds is a singer/songwriter in his own right and just released his latest album: Losing Out On the Lion’s Share.
the Lost Anglers are:
Owen Burgess, guitar, vocals
Ross Edmunds, bass, vocals
Andrew Edmunds, pedal steel guitar
