The Los Angeles Onewheel Enduro Race 2022
About this Event
The first ever "Los Angeles Onewheel Enduro Race" is a ≈50 mile Onewheel race, the longest Onewheel race yet! Racers will ride through LA's trails, bike paths, and streets with multiple checkpoints and charging spots. Register and race for a chance to win a bunch of prizes from our sponsors. There will be afterparty (with ramps & boxes) following the race at the finish line location. All racers and their family and friends are invited! Route on Strava.

- Cell phone (fully charged) with Onewheel app and Strava app installed
- Portable power bank (fully charged) and cord for recharging phone

Race Rules:
1. All racers must register on Eventbrite and pay the entry fee to participate in the race. All entry fees will go towards race expenses and prizes for the winners.
2. All racers must be over the age of 16. Riders under the age of 18 will need a permission slip from their parent or legal guardian. Riders under the age of 16 are allowed but they must stay with a parent or guardian at all times throughout the race. Riders under the age of 16 who separate from their parent or guardian will be disqualified from winning.
3. Only Onewheels are eligible to enter the race. The race is open to Onewheel GTs, CBXRs, JWXRs, and VESCs. Stock XRs are eligible but will need to bring portable charging units or board banks to complete the race. Pints, Pint Xs, Onewheel Plus, and Onewheel V1 will not be able to complete the race.
4. Charging while riding is not allowed. Portable charging set-ups are allowed but they can only be used while stopped to charge. This is intended to keep the race fair and fun for all Onewheel types.
5. Switching out Onewheels is not allowed. All racers must ride the same Onewheel throughout the race and stop to recharge it.
6. All racers must record their race ride, using both the Onewheel app and Strava, for the entire duration of the race. Winners race recordings will be checked at the finish line for verification, incomplete or missing race recordings may result in disqualification. It is advised to check race recordings at every checkpoint to make sure the recording hasn’t stopped or disconnected. Racers are not allowed to start their Onewheel app and Strava ride recordings before the race starts to increase mileage recorded.
7. All racers must stop at the pre-determined checkpoints, in the correct order, along the race route. Racers must take a picture of themselves at the checkpoint landmark and submit the picture while at the checkpoint to the race organizers via the LA Onewheel Instagram or text message (number will be provided). This is required for ranking and verification, missed checkpoints will result in disqualification. Racers are allowed to diverge from the recommended route but they must visit all the checkpoints in the correct order and ride at least 50 miles to qualify for winning. Don’t miss any checkpoints and don’t let your phone die during the race.

Finish Line - Josh’s House
8. Winners will be divided into Mens and Womens categories. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each division (6 winners total). There will not be any other divisions such as Groms, Clydesdales, Over The Hills, etc. Winners will be decided by first across the finish line unless staggered start groups are needed. If staggered groups are needed, racers start and finish times will be noted and winners will be determined by time.
9. Racers must meet and check in at the starting line at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 5th. Rules will be covered at 10 AM. and the race will begin at 10:30 AM sharp. All racers will start at the same time unless there are more than 50 racers. If there are more than 50 racers they will start in staggered groups. If starting groups are staggered each racer’s start and finish time will be noted in order to determine the winners.
10. No physical contact between racers is allowed. Pushing, bumping, etc. will result in disqualification. The lead rider has the right to their line, racers must pass without making contact with the lead rider or other racers. Accidental or involuntary contact will not result in disqualification.
11. Racers are not allowed to touch, disturb, or otherwise alter other racer’s Onewheels or gear. Racers are not allowed to unplug other racer’s OWs when charging, let air out of other racer’s tires, or change other racer’s OW riding modes while charging. Messing with other racer’s OWs or gear will result in disqualification.
12. Charging spots are first come, first serve but racers are required to share outlets via power strips and splitters for up to 3 Onewheels. Adding more than 3 Onewheels per outlet may cause the circuit to blow. Unplugging any Onewheel besides your own is not allowed for any reason, you must find the owner of the Onewheel that is plugged in and have them unplug it in order to share the outlet via power strip or splitter. Outlets must be prioritized for charging Onewheels, phones and other electronics must yield charging spots to Onewheels if needed.
13. Racers must ride only Onewheels during the race. Riding in or on any other type of vehicle will result in disqualification. If your battery dies you must carry your OW to a charging spot, racers can not ride in cars or other vehicles. Getting an Uber will result in disqualification.
14. All items used for the race, except consumables such as food and water, must be carried by the racer for the entire duration of the race. Racers must carry their own chargers and gear, having someone else meet up to bring chargers or gear to racers is not allowed. Racers are not allowed to drop off chargers or gear to someone else mid-race. Follow or support vehicles are not allowed.
15. Racers will need to navigate the route on their own during the race, there will not be any leaders or guides (except for the trail section). Studying and learning the route in advance of the race is highly recommended.
16. By registering for “The Los Angeles Onewheel Enduro Race” participants assume full liability and responsibility for their own health and safety during the race. Participants agree to ride as safely as possible at all times, especially when riding around other racers or pedestrians. Participants understand that the race route contains steep rocky trails, crowded bike paths, and busy streets with car traffic. Participants agree to not hold the race organizers or other participants liable or responsible for any accidents, injuries, physical damage, or property damage sustained during the race. Participants agree to be safe, know their limits, and not try to sue anyone involved in the race.
17. Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the race organizers up until the day of the race. Rule changes will be communicated to registered racers. Rules will be covered in-person before the race begins.
