About this Event

After a successful $15,000 crowdfunding campaign and sold-out debut in September 2022, The Long Goodbye is back for its second run of shows in Memphis, Tennessee January 13, 14, and 15, 2023.

The Long Goodbye is a rock opera with original music written by award-winning (Memphis Songwriter Association's 2022 Songwriter of the Year, 2022 Indie Memphis Hometowner Music Video 1st Place Jury Prize Winner) songwriter Emily Rooker.

The show tells the story of three selves - the Present Self, the Young Self, and the Wicked Self as they make sense of each other, the past, grief, loss and change. Accompanied by the Mirrors, they reflect on their life and how to move forward.

This abstract, experimental musical is told entirely through movement, song, and visual elements.
