The Long Form duo present Rebecca Lane's solo for quarter-tone bass flute and electronics and Jon Heilbron's work for multiple chord organs. The two pieces, conceived as independent solo works, flow into one another, each reflecting a unique perspective on sustained tones, harmonic friction, microtonal fluctuations & psychoacoustic phenomena.
Rebecca Lane is a musician who focuses on extended just intonation & alternate tunings and the perceptual and relational aspects of sounding/activating this material with others. Her practice is informed by ongoing collaborations with composer-performers (such as Clara de Asís) and within various ensembles (including Harmonic Space Orchestra), utilizing various flutes (in particular, Kingma System quarter-tone flutes).

Jon Heilbron is an Australian composer and performer active in the fields of contemporary, improvised, and experimental music. Alongside his work as an ensemble musician with groups including ensemble Musikfabrik, Klangforum Wien, and ensemble KNM Berlin, he has worked with a broad range of musicians to develop new work with a focus on close collaboration.
