Aaaaaaaaaaaaand…
WE’RE BACK!!
Mark Monday the 17th of February in your calendar as Sallins Local History Society launches our first talk of 2025 about none other than legendary boxer Dan Donnelly!
The knowledgeable Larry Breen will apprise us of the fascinating life story of the Dublin born pugilist ( - I’d to look that term up, it means ‘boxer’ & not someone who campaigns for pug dogs right, who’d a thought it ??!) & I for one hope we’ll find out how Donnelly’s arm ended up in The Hideout in Kilkullen all those years ago - who remembers being a kid drinking a tin of mineral & pack of taytos staring up with macabre curiosity at the disembodied limb back in the 80’s?
As always, we’ll host the presentation in the relaxed elegant Railway Inn lounge so we’ll be warm & cosy whatever fresh hell the weather Gods decide to unleash!
So come along, Monday 17th Feb at 8pm, we can’t wait to see you all again!
