In 1998, Jim Rooney started Dynastream Innovations out of a garage in Cochrane, Alberta. Famously, Dynastream developed the ANT wireless protocol. Then, in 2006, Garmin acquired Dynastream Innovations. Along with the acquisition, Garmin Canada established it's headoffice in Cochrane.
