Nashville Songwriters in the Round – Live at a First-Class Recording Studio in Abbotsford

Experience the magic of a true Nashville-style Songwriters in the Round in the intimate setting of a professional recording studio. Hear the stories behind the songs, the inspiration that sparked them, and the remarkable talent of four acclaimed Canadian recording artists. In a remarkable 2 hour show! 7-9pm.

Featuring:

Chris Ronald - Chris Ronald’s “keenly luxuriant voice and immaculate songcraft” (The Georgia Straight) have won him many accolades including a nomination for “Songwriter of the Year” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Since emigrating to Canada in 2002, he has developed a fusion of folk, roots, and Americana music steeped in his British background and poetic lyrics. In live performance, Ronald draws on his abilities as an accomplished singer, storyteller, and musician (guitar, harmonica, ukulele) to deliver a captivating show.

John Bowman – Based in British Columbia, John Bowman is an independent Canadian country singer-songwriter known for his traditional, story-driven approach and acoustic, rootsy sound. Since his 2011 debut, he has consistently released music that rejects modern pop-country trends in favor of raw, authentic narratives and stripped-back instrumentation.

Des Walde – Born and raised in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley, Desiree's love for music began long before she ever stepped onto a stage. As a young girl, she was deeply moved by music in all its forms — whether singing along to The Phantom of the Opera, watching Carmen Live worship VHS tapes, creating Sarah McLachlan and Reba McEntire lip-sync concerts with her sisters and family friends, or receiving a tambourine at church at just five years old — a moment that sparked one of her earliest and fondest musical memories.

Jordain – A rising Canadian artist whose contemporary songwriting and captivating performances have quickly earned attention from audiences and industry professionals alike. He’s a studio engineer onto of all that! And Jordain brings a fresh perspective and compelling original music to every stage. He’ll be your MC tonight.

In the Nashville "round" tradition, these artists will take turns sharing songs and stories, creating spontaneous moments of collaboration, laughter, and musical connection. It's a rare opportunity to experience the creative process up close and hear original music exactly as it was intended—directly from the writers themselves. And yes…there will be a recording made of this ‘just once’ type evening by studio owner Søren Lonnqvist.
