The Life & Times of Luke Drury, Grafton PatriotRichard Gardner, will present “The Life & Times of Luke Drury, Grafton Patriot” on Sunday, April 12th at 2 PM at the Grafton Community Harvest Barn. Luke Drury was a Revolutionary War Patriot whose story deserves to be told, and Richard is one of the best presenters to do that. Living in Grafton for a brief four years he was called upon to represent William Scandlin and do a presentation on his life more than twelve years ago. Instilling a love for Grafton’s patriots, he continued to expand his research into architect Elbridge Boyden, Reverend William Scandlin, and Luke Drury, who by 1781 was named Lieutenant Colonel Commander of West Point. He has now compiled a compelling Power Point encompassing not only our Grafton patriots, but the atmosphere of the country as England imposed regulations that caused citizens to revolt. Richard earned his BA in History at Nasson College and continues to research local MA history.
