John Steinbeck achieved critical acclaim in the literary community with such stories as Of Mice and Men, East of Eden, and The Grapes of Wrath. After being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1940 for The Grapes of Wrath, his writing career continued to soar to new heights, culminating in him being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962 “for his realistic and imaginative writings, combining as they do sympathetic humor and keen social perception.”
We will look at examples from his work and explore accomplishments from his life.
This program is free and intended for teens and adults. No registration is required.
