Will James won the Newbery Medal for the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children in 1927. He is in the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame and the Western Writers Hall of Fame. His illustrations were published in Sunset, Scribner's, The Saturday Evening Post and Ladies' Home Journal. His life had a dark side as well, including a stint in the Nevada State Penitentiary and an early death under unfortunate circumstances. Join us to learn about his life, art, writings, and struggles.
