“A one-woman masterpiece!” —On Stage Los Angeles
This delightful comedy presents a unique glimpse of a day in the life of the great scientist—as seen through the eyes of his secretary. The scene is Princeton, New Jersey, 1934. It is Einstein’s birthday and a group of journalists has gathered in his living room to interview him at his home as he turns 55. As usual, Einstein is late, and his devoted secretary, Ellen, stalls by fielding questions, placating and humoring the reporters, explaining his theories—all the while, attempting to keep the chaotic household running smoothly.
Star Kres Mersky is an actor and playwright based in Los Angeles, acclaimed for her one-person shows. Her full-length plays, one-acts, and monologues have had productions in New York and Los Angeles, in theatres, universities, libraries and performing arts centers. Mersky has had a long career in stage, numerous films, and television. Director Paul Gersten has been working with LA talent for more than 30 years and has toured with Mersky on two of her shows. The pair are currently working on two compilations of Mersky’s one-acts and monologues.
Don’t miss this utterly charming take on Einstein told with Mersky’s sharp sense of humor—it will have you laughing out loud, and maybe learning a thing or two along the way.
