Welcome to a day in his life working at the library.
Based on the real life experiences of the performer Lochie Laffin-Vines entering the library industry as a fresh-faced 20something year old, this show explores the highs and lows of working in a Library.
Ian loves to work in the library, he gets to meet new people every day and scratch his itch of be a famous performer with the children Storytime. Yes, they are a captive audience, but they enjoy his theatrics.
Ian dreams of being on Play School - Noni and Simon are his heroes.
Journey through a day in the life as Ian reflects on his work, life and what’s next for him.
He submitted a pretty killer audition for Play School.
Will he succeed getting his dream job or learn to appreciate the pretty good life he has around him?

At least 30 minutes before the show. Our performances start bang on time and it takes a hot second to welcome you into the building.

The Butterfly Club is a licensed venue. Accordingly, patrons under 18 are only allowed on premises in the company of a parent or legal guardian.

We strongly encourage using public transport. The Butterfly Club is a short stroll from Flinders Street station and Melbourne Central, and an even shorter stroll from any tram that travels through Swanston or Collins Streets (get off at Town Hall).
