An exhibition honoring Sofía Ímber, influential journalist, cultural critic, and founder of the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Caracas in Venezuela
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Sofía Ímber was the first woman ever nominated for the National Journalism Prize of Venezuela and subsequently won other international awards including the French Legion d'Honneur the Argentinian Orden de Mayo and the Picasso Medal from UNESCO among many others. In 2022 her family donated her collection to Special Collections at the University of Miami Libraries.
"The Legacy of Sofía Ímber: Venezuelan Journalist and Art Promoter" commemorates the 100th anniversary of her birth in 1924 showcasing her impressive accomplishments in journalism and art promotion.
