Marla Weber, along with her sister Brenda Raymond and her cousin Bonnie Wagner, will share the story of their great-great-grandmother, Bauke Lubben. Their story was featured in a Journal Star on August 17, 2025, article written by Margaret Reist. We will hear how they went about finding out as much as they could about Bauke’s life and her bravery saving her youngest son from flood waters. Bauke’s grave was unmarked for more than 140 years but now has a marker thanks to her great-great-granddaughters’ efforts to preserve her legacy.
Attendees will be able to sign up for a raffle giving away a MyHeritage Autosomal DNA test. This test will provide a tester with information allowing them to use MyHeritage's Theory of Relativity to determine DNA connections. It can be helpful if a researcher uses MyHeritage on a regular basis or wants to begin.
This session is also begin offered via Zoom. Register at: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/hAhXYkuhRBmJ2oxzLQtZeg#/registration
