Dame Alison Rose joined Charterhouse in 2024 as Senior Partner, serving on the firm’s Executive, Investment and Portfolio Committees. Prior to this, she spent 31 years at NatWest Group, becoming CEO in 2019. During her tenure, Alison led the UK Government–commissioned Rose Review into barriers facing women entrepreneurs, which catalysed the Investing in Women Code, now backed by over 200 signatories. This work has contributed to the UK tripling the number of annual women-led start-ups from 50,000 in 2019 to 150,000 in 2022.

A long-standing champion for diversity and female entrepreneurship, Alison expanded NatWest’s entrepreneur accelerator programme to 14 hubs across the UK, offering extensive support to founders. Her pioneering work has been recognised globally and is now being incorporated into initiatives across 28 countries. Alison was appointed Dame Commander (DBE) in the 2023 New Year Honours for her services to the financial services sector.
