Step into The Leadership Lounge, an event series hosted by CMI Chief Executive Ann Francke OBE CMgr FCMI, featuring fireside chats with extraordinary leaders. Joining Ann for this installment is James Reed CBE, Chairman and Chief Executive of Reed, the world's largest family-owned recruitment company.

These interactive sessions offer a unique opportunity to hear from top industry professionals about their journeys, leadership philosophies, and insights into the future of work. With a chance to participate in a Q&A and network in a relaxed atmosphere, these events are designed to inspire and equip you with practical advice for your own leadership journey.

With over three decades at the helm of Reed beginning in 1997, James has championed innovation, philanthropy, and purpose-led leadership. Under his stewardship, Reed has grown into a global recruitment powerhouse, whilst also being a purpose-led philanthropy company, or PhilCo, a movement which James created and continues to champion. Reed continues to have meaningful social impact through initiatives like the Reed Foundation.

James is also the driving force behind charity Big Give, the UK’s largest match-funding platform and is the Chair of Trustees. Continuing his work, James is a regular media commentator on work and labour market issues with appearances on BBC News and Sky News, as well as contributing insight to publications including the FInancial Times, the Sunday Times and Harvard Business Review.

In this fireside chat, James will share insights from his distinguished career, his leadership philosophy, and lessons from his latest book, Life’s Work, which offers actionable advice to fast-track your career.
