Special guest teachers: Basil & Heidi and Chunky. Plus Nicolai, Laura and Alice & the LV team.
Special guest DJs: DJ Tony C, DJ Basil & DJ Chunky
Doors open at 7pm.
Then after a brief warm up, the Salsa classes start at 7.30pm with our special guest teachers Basil and Heidi and Chunky alongside Nicolai, Laura and Alice. Then our djs... Dj Tony C, Dj Basil and DJ Chunky... will spin top Salsa tunes (with a sprinkling of other Latin rhythms, like Bachata, Cha Cha or Merengue) to create the perfect dancers paradise!

Basil Pinnock, Director of Dance2Salsa Dance Company
A great deal of Basil’s early years were spent in the various Jazz Dance clubs up and down the
country. This was a unique underground dance scene, where the emphasis was on solo footwork and
breath-taking body movement.
Salsa became a major part of Basil’s life in 2001 and he has dedicated himself to learning and
teaching all aspects of this fantastic art form. He started Dance2Salsa in the Autumn of 2006 at Bird
Hills Golf Club and now teaches a number of different dance styles and forms including, On Clave,
Cross Body Lead salsa On1, Mambo On2 (Palladium/Classic timing), Cha Cha Cha, Cuban Salsa and
Bachata Fusion. Basil is always approachable and is often the last one on the dance floor sharing his
enthusiasm for the dance, the music and his dance partners.

Heidi Turner, principle teacher and performer with Dance2Salsa Dance Company
Heidi has been around the dance scene for over a decade and spent a great deal of time on other
dance scenes before graduating to salsa. Heidi has established a reputation for excellent technique
and great following skills and is a joy to watch as she expresses the music in an intricate yet fun way.
She is regularly sought after by other female dancers for advice in relation to styling, body movement
and technique. Heidi has been teaching all aspects of salsa dance and other latin dances from a
follower’s perspective and regularly partners Basil in the delivery of classes On Clave, Cross Body
Lead salsa On1, Mambo On2 (Palladium/Classic timing), Cha Cha Cha, Cuban Salsa, Bachata Fusion,
Advanced Dance Development workshops and the choreography of student performance teams.
Basil and Heidi are together focused on raising the level of dance education in terms of a high level of
class/workshop delivery and on raising the dance level of dancers that they come into contact with.
☆☆☆☆☆Chunky☆☆☆☆☆
Chunky's classes are lively and fun, centring around breaking down the most difficult moves, techniques and components into manageable chunks, and linking them seamlessly to look and feel very fluid.
He is renowned for his cheeky charm, bad jokes and blocking the exit so you have to stay and dance at least a few tracks to practise. The perfect combo of solid technical tuition and endless fun!
☆☆☆☆☆☆Laura Robb ☆☆☆☆☆☆
Laura started dancing when she was 5 but has been dancing salsa for 22 years, having originally been taught by her RE teachers brother whilst on a school trip to a monastery on the Isle of Wight (!), she hasn't stopped since. Whilst at University in Leeds, she enjoyed dancing 7 nights a week, and her passion for teaching beginners was born as she had the opportunity to teach for some wonderful teachers.
Now she has 2 boys and a very understanding husband, and she can be found teaching regularly with Salsa Calentita, The Funky Latino and The Salsa Bachata Social Club team.
Laura loves a class full of beginners who think they can't dance and seeing the smiles as they realise they have done it!
☆☆☆☆☆☆Alice Baker☆☆☆☆☆☆
I began my dance journey with 15 years of ballet and 7 years of modern dance, teaching younger students during my final three years at dance school. While at university, I was introduced to Cuban salsa through cheerleading friends, where my love for Salsa truly began.
After moving back home in 2016, I discovered Cross Body Salsa, along with Bachata and later Kizomba. Since joining the teaching team at Salsa Bachata Social Club in 2022, I’ve continued to develop my ladies’ styling, teaching approach, and confidence dancing both On1 and On2, which led me to join a London Salsa Performance Team in 2024.
I also teach Kizomba with L2 Dance, a school founded by my sister and her close friend in 2018. I joined the team in 2019, initially teaching weekly classes. Following Covid, L2 Dance evolved to focus on monthly Kizomba-only socials, which I now co-run, creating a welcoming and supportive space for connection and social dancing.
I love meeting new people and sharing my passion and joy for dance with everyone I teach and meet.
