In recognition of International Women’s Day, the 2024 documentary, The Last of the Sea Women will be shown. “The film focuses on the dwindling community of “haenyeo” a group of female free-divers from South Korea’s Jeju Island… the film shows their struggles to preserve their centuries old way of life…harvesting seafood for their communities… They face threats like aging demographics and environmental concerns.
