Spend an evening at Curtin University with food, community, and interactive performances. What if you were the last of your kind? The Last Numbat believes she may be. As she ventures beyond the safety of her log home, you’re invited to help bring her story to life.
Throughout the night, step in as a puppeteer, guide the ropes, or take on supporting roles as the Numbat’s journey unfolds. Each 15–minute performance blends narrative, music, and interactive fun, exploring connection, teamwork, and the sustainability of our natural environment.
Enjoy dinner from the food trucks as the Numbat lights up the pines at sunset, creating a spectacular visual experience.
Looking for a full day of outdoor play, nature activities, and hands-on adventures? Join The Last Numbat at Kids on Campus on 20 September from 10am–2pm.
This giant marionette comes alive through hands-on puppetry and storytelling, created by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and designer Leon Hendroff. The performance is a special adaptation developed in partnership with Curtin University and Theatre Arts students, following the original 2020 commission by the City of South Perth.
