The Last Brown Beret - Film Festival at Hollywood Park - LA Premiere!

Five 1960’s activists reunite in present day for the funeral of one of their fellow Ex-Brown Berets. After the burial, they continue the Mexican-American custom of throwing an after burial party, where they come to terms with their past and discuss what it means to be Chicano in the U.S.A.

Director Biography - Del Zamora

Del Zamora is widely known as a top shelf solid actor, with an immense range. Very chameleon-like in his approach to the roles he portrays. Del has done 280 speaking roles in his storied career consisting of 108 movies and 158 television shows. Del has also done several industrial shows, a few commercials and a total of 98 plays. Del attended UCLA on a full academic scholarship. He had just returned from studying acting with Stella Adler in New York, and had just been accepted into the Motion Picture/Television Department at UCLA; when he was cast in a lead role in the seminal feature film, REPO MAN. Repo Man was shot during his finals at UCLA in May, 1983. Del was advised by his school counselor to withdraw from UCLA, to focus on the large role he was going to do in Repo Man. Del planned on going back after Repo Man however his acting career took off as he began to work on many shows and films including Robocop, Born in East L.A, Hill st. Blues and many other projects.Del has directed a cable TV pilot, CHANNEL ZERO a channel surfing comedy show, and was also the head writer for that show. Del directed a short film, FRIDA KAHLO IN THE CASA AZUL. Shot in 4 hours, for $28.00, this short has won numerous awards at numerous film festivals. Del has directed 5 live stage productions in his career. Most of these productions have won awards for direction, production, and actor’s performances. Del directed comedic shorts, industrial films, music videos. Del has written several screenplays and just recently started shopping his pilot teleplay, SHE’S GONE. This teleplay is about the missing and abducted Native American women, being trafficked in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Del is very excited about his directorial debut feature film, THE LAST BROWN BERET.
