The Room Upstairs Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for their next show The Last 5 YearsAUDITIONS
We will be holding individually scheduled, five-minute auditions from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 30th at Club Diversity (863 S High Street, Columbus 43206).
Please be sure to warm up on your own and follow the guidelines as described below for your preparation.
PREPARATION
All auditioners are asked to prepare 60-90 seconds of song that show's off your vocal range as well as a song from the show.
Versions of the songs are available on Youtube for reference.
Please bring an mp3 or your PHONE with a 60-90 second cut of your audition track on it. No voices (except choral backing) are allowed. You may not be asked to sing the entire audition piece. You may also be asked to read from the script.
Please bring your appointment calendars on that day so that you are prepared to state any rehearsal conflicts you may anticipate. Please be completely honest with these conflicts as the rehearsals are very limited.

Rehearsals will start in beginning of August.
This show will be triple cast, and each cast will rehearse 1 day a week, pending availability.
We are willing to work around scheduling issues.
Performances are Friday and Saturday nights from October 4th-19th at 7:30. Each cast will get to perform 1 weekend each.

Please note, anyone can audition for any character, however the character will be portrayed onstage as the gender written.
-JAMIE- Male - Vocal Range Bb4-A2
-CATHY- Female - Vocal Range D#5-F3

Cast 1: October 4th & 5th at 7:30pm
Cast 2: October 11th & 12th at 7:30pm
Cast 3: October 18th & 19th at 7:30pm

OVERVIEW OF THE SHOW
The Last Five Years is Jason Robert Brown’s intimate window into a couple’s doomed marriage. Cathy, a struggling actress, and Jamie, a budding novelist on the brink of wild success, are 20-somethings in New York who meet, fall in love, marry, and divorce over the span of five years. Cathy tells the story from the end of their marriage; Jamie begins from when they first meet. As the musical unfolds, Cathy moves backward in time to the beginning of the relationship as Jamie moves toward the end; they meet only once, in the middle, at their wedding.
This is a non-equity, non-paying, volunteer production.
