The Lakeland Festival of Light 2024 will be on 6th April 2024 supporting the Michelle Jurd Trust.

Mountains are our passion, and so is delivering unforgettable experiences. This fundraiser sees participants tackle Striding Edge at night in aid of the Lake District Search & Mountain Rescue Association.

These events donate 100% of the profits to charity and so far we have raised in excess of £75,000 for 6 different charities and had more than 6,700 people come light up the fells .

They will be raising vital funds for Michelle Jurd Trust for the second year.

The event will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Rawnsley Centre in Keswick. After a briefing and raffle, we will walk to Catbells (2.5 miles). Once the mountain is lined and it's dark, we will capture the image of the mountain lit up.

Quite simply, we then line Catbells from the top to the bottom (so you go as far as you wish) and we get some pictures captured by our amazing pro photographer team. The evening can often be a cold one, so come prepared with more clothes than you think. We do have to wait for it to get dark to get an amazing picture, and standing around is chilly, so I'll say it again - be prepared for this! Also don't forget your head torch.

Once the pictures are snapped we descend safely and you walk back to Keswick, with the event wrapping up by about 10 pm.

Unfortunately the event is not suitable for mobility scooters etc, but Crow Park in Keswick offers a superb vantage point.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept under control and dog waste is removed from the mountain.
