About this Event
With roots in monasticism, Lectio Divina, or sacred reading, is a practice of prayer and meditation upon the Word of God which opens one up to a deeper contemplation of the mystery of God within our own lives and, when done in community, the lives of those around us.
Neal Tew, who spent three years living with monastic communities in Europe where he originally learned the practice, will be sharing his own insights on Lectio Divina and how anyone can begin to engage in this form of prayerful reading on their own or with a group.
This event is free and open to all Christians and will be held at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in the Synod Hall on 2/16 from 7-9:00pm. Enter off the parking lot at 7th & Plum, take the elevator down to “B” (undercroft) and follows the signs to the Synod Hall. Parking is free in our lots but the street meters are in effect until 9pm.
