š The Krewe of Sideline Snugglers Presents: A Louisiana Marathon Block Party! Where wearing onesies is our uniform and this gang of marathon misfits believes comfort is king and cheering is our superpower!
š When: Sunday, January 19th, 2025
š Where: Neutral Grounds, 800 Block of Park Blvd, Baton Rouge (Garden District)
š Host HQ: 840 Park Blvd ā Doors open at 6:00 AM
š Laissez les bon temps rouler as we celebrate the participantsā ambition while avoiding breaking a sweat ourselves!
Nestled in the heart of the Garden District, we hold court in the best spot to cheerāthe neutral grounds of Park Blvd, where runners pass us twice: a couple of miles into the race and again in the final stretch, just two miles from the finish line.
Letās be realāweāre not crossing any finish lines ourselves, except maybe the one to the King Cake table. Instead, weāre proud to be the Pickle Juice Patriots and the Bourbon Booster Club, handing out everything from water and pickle juice to a little bourbon (for those of age, served in Dixie cups, of course).
And because no Louisiana celebration is complete without a little lagniappe, weāll transform into the Second Line Sidelines, where every cheer comes with a little dance and a lot of soul!
š¹ Staple Handouts for Runners:
ā¢ Slices of King Cake fit for champions
ā¢ A bit of bourbon (a little goes a long way!)
ā¢ Pickle juice for the brave
ā¢ Water from our trusty hug jug (no bottles, please!)
ā¢ Tissues, because marathons can be emotional
šµ What to Expect:
Weāll be stationed in the neutral grounds, rocking onesies, moo-moos, and PJsāembracing our cozy Louisiana lazy!
Our mission, if you wish to join: Get the runners hyped as they pass the first time and keep them looking forward to seeing us again for that final push past that hell of a hill, less than a mile from the finish line.
Whether youāre a serious sideline supporter or just here for the King Cake, this is the place to celebrate the grit, determination, and joy of marathon day and its participants.
š” How You Can Join the Fun:
ā¢ Bring your flair: King Cake, Dixie cups, pickle juice, bourbon, or an encouraging sign are all welcome.
ā¢ Get comfy: Bring a tailgate chair or blanket. Walking or biking? Drop your gear off the night before.
ā¢ No bottled water needed: Weāve got hydration covered!
And for runners or neighbors in need of a quick pause, my house at 840 Park Blvd is open for a bathroom break or a moment to catch your breath.
So grab your comfiest onesie, your best cheer and gear, and join us for a uniquely Louisiana celebration! Weāre here to spread joy, hospitality, and a whole lot of love on this proud day for Baton Rouge and the Louisiana Marathon crew.
Laissez les bon temps rouler! š
See you there!
Much luv, The Krewe of Sideline Snugglers
