The Father and Son led, vibrant 6 piece ensemble return to Kings Road Yard. A collective that bridges genres and generations of talent and creativity, uniting veteran musicians with the next wave of Welsh artistry.
This is the third in their series of gigs at the yard, where the group play their own arrangements of originals and choice covers, blending Soul, Jazz, Funk, Latin, Folk and Americana.
This time the band are joined by the awesome and truly inspirational Robert Short. Originally from the America, Rob now resides here in the UK.
Robert Short is an international performer and whose sound moves effortlessly between jazz, funk, soul, and the rich traditions of American music. Blending the power of classical training with the freedom of improvisation, he delivers performances that are both electrifying and deeply expressive.
With roots in African American musical heritage, Robert’s work draws on spirituals, jazz, and rhythm & blues-bringing history, groove, and storytelling into every performance. Whether reimagining classic repertoire or shaping the moment through improvisation, he creates an atmosphere that is vibrant, soulful, and unforgettable.
Alongside the stage, Robert is an educator and cultural practitioner, exploring music as a space for connection, identity, and community. His performances invite audiences not just to listen, but to feel, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of the music.
