This Western played at The Jackson on August 31, 1945 - join us exactly 80 years later to see it again on the big screen.
A 1943 Western film about a cowboy named John Bonniwell (Richard Dix) who, after thwarting a bank robbery by the James gang, wakes up in the hospital to find he’s been elected marshal of Broken Lance, Kansas. He soon discovers the town is controlled by a corrupt banker, Steve Barat (Albert Dekker), who is exploiting the citizens. Bonniwell’s efforts to enforce the law and stand up to Barat lead to conflict and dangerous consequences.
