Ok, for real now: standard networking events are exhausting, and making new friends as an adult can feel incredibly forced. Sunshine with Joce is the alternative. :-) We totally skip the corporate small talk ("So, what do you do for work?") and get straight to real, low-pressure human connection.
As your Hostess, I protect the space to ensure it stays safe, child-at-heart, and entirely stress-free. The tables are strictly capped at 12 seats so nobody gets lost in the crowd.
On Saturday, July 25th, we are taking over the cozy upstairs corner at Beyond The Pale for a special Double Feature afternoon. Choose to attend one, or grab a VIP bundle to stay for both!
🎬 THE DOUBLE FEATURE TIMELINE:
🎨 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM | Act 1: The Bad Drawing Club (Ugly Portraits Edition) Price: $20 Parallel play at its finest. We keep our hands busy with , crayons so there's no pressure for intense eye contact. Absolutely zero artistic talent is allowed—in fact, the uglier your portrait of your neighbor is, the better. It's the ultimate low-stakes icebreaker. Oh, and of course my signature silly games in between the ugly portraits :-)
🥤 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM | The Recess Intermission Time to stretch your legs, refill your bevvy or drink downstairs, grab a snack, and enjoy a casual, unstructured breather.
🧸 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM | Act 2: Adult Show & Tell (Nostalgia Stories) Price: $15 A concept borrowed from underground indie scenes in big hubs like Toronto. Bring an object from home—something nostalgic, weird, sentimental, or a hilarious thrift store find—and share a quick 3-minute story about it. The Safety Net: If you get stage fright or your social battery dips, write your story on a neon sticky note and I will read it out loud for you!

Important Details:
- Where: Beyond The Pale Brewery (Upstairs corner area), Ottawa.
- Capacity: Strictly 12 seats max.
- Refund Policy: Due to the micro-size of our tables, tickets are final sale but completely transferable to a friend if plans change!
- Must purchase minumum of 1 beverage to give back to the venue.
Oh, and the first 90 minutes is free parking... yep, big parking lot at the Brewery :-)
