It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend The Joy of Many Colours – Multicultural Festival 2026, a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, food, and community.This special event is organised by the Connected Women group of the Australian Red Cross NT, in collaboration with Darwin’s multicultural communities and with the generous support of the Northern Territory Government.
Event Details:
• Date: Saturday, 4 July 2026
• Time: 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Fashion & Cultural Show: 4pm – 6pm | Multicultural Food Expo: 6.30pm – 8.30pm)
• Venue: Netball Northern Territory, Marrara
For many years, Australian Red Cross has been a pillar of support for refugee, migrant, and asylum seeker women and their families, fostering social inclusion and empowerment through the Connected Women NT program. The program has been recognised for its outstanding contributions, receiving awards such as the Fitzgeralds’ Diversity Award and the INPEX Community Volunteer Organisation/Team of the Year Award.
The Joy of Many Colours – Multicultural Festival 2026 brings together the richness of Darwin’s diverse communities in one dynamic event. The festival will showcase the incredible talents, traditions, and stories of women from multicultural backgrounds.
Highlights of the event include:
• Multicultural Fashion Showcase – Featuring creative designs developed through capacity-building workshops, where participants explored upcycling, sewing, and creative design.
• Multicultural Food Expo – A showcase of over 100 dishes from more than 20 cultural backgrounds, offering a rich culinary experience.
• Live Cultural Performances – Traditional dances, music, and performances representing migrant, First Nations, and broader Australian communities.
• Family-Friendly Activities – Interactive games, live music, a photo wall, and engaging activities for children.
In today’s interconnected world, food and culture are powerful forces that bring people together and strengthen social harmony. This festival celebrates unity in diversity and promotes a deeper understanding of multiculturalism within the broader Australian community.
