In chakra symbolism, the lotus is at the crown of the head. Although it appears to grow from a pond’s surface, in reality, the thousand-petaled, cream with pink tips lotus flower grow in the mud.
Metaphorically, we could say that despite the mud within ourselves we are able to grow into a beautiful flower.
The Jewel in the lotus is part of the blossoming process, helping us come to terms with the muddy water within us. Initially, we must cultivate acceptance, letting the mud settle so that the water may become clearer.
It is difficult, yet possible, to attain. This session is useful when we are holding back sorrow, not tending to our own needs, or not recognizing that anger and resentment cause suffering. We may feel unrecognized, we have denied the love that we know we have and so denied that which lies deep within.
It is possible that the limitless power of love can lift our consciousness. The self-acceptance, warmth, caring, kindness of pink energy within us bring the possibility of clarity. When we can accept ourselves and allow that which suffers within us to be, what we have searched for is revealed. When we achieve it, that clarity is like a beautiful shining jewel in a lotus blossom.
The jewel in the lotus is even more precious than the lotus blossom itself. It is the clear insight to understand the qualities of love and warmth given to ourselves to others, the experience of true self-acceptance and the ability to observe with compassion.
